Last Wednesday was Elizabeth's 8th birthday. It was the nicest birthday we've had around here for a while. Which isn't to say that the others have been bad. But for some reason the stars aligned to make this one extra nice. Elizabeth had done a friend activity the night before. She'd wanted to go to Pump It Up (a place with big inflatable things the kids play on). We didn't do a "party," but I said she could invite a couple friends to the free jump, which I thought was just as fun or better. It was way fun for her and it meant that on Wednesday we could just do a family party--have cake, open presents, etc. It was nice and low key, but still festive enough to feel like a birthday. Also, Kip was off, which was nice.
Then Sunday, she got baptized. We forgot the programs, but that was our only hitch, and I'll take it.

Emma fell asleep on the way to the baptism and miraculously managed to sleep through the whole thing. Many thanks to Emilee for holding her.

Elizabeth's really good friend came too. Elizabeth was SOOO excited to see her. They are super sweet together. (Many thanks to Nicole for bringing her.)

And Elizabeth and Savannah had fun being silly and enjoying Elizabeth's baptism dress, which she thought was the most beautiful thing in the world (Many thanks to Heather for loaning it to us.)

Elizabeth enjoyed her baptism immensely. She sat and paid attention to our friend Sam who gave the talk and to everything else. It was a really wonderful day.
She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. And thank you so much for letting us borrow the dress.
