Elizabeth Birthday 2015

So I decided that each year instead of taking a bunch of super crappy shots of my kids opening presents on their birthdays I'm going to get one really great picture of my birthday kid instead. Unfortunately, I decided that after Elizabeth (actually Emma's) birthday, so here are the usual crappy shots.

Elizabeth had a great birthday. I told her she was limited in guests this year--she could only invite the girls in her church class and her best friends from school. So she did. She (so far) really loves having a December birthday and just embraces and enjoys the Christmas-y-ness of it. This year, she wanted cupcakes (some vanilla, some chocolate, some both) that they could decorate. The ended up looking like the demon spawn of gingerbread land. And the girls were pretty darn thrilled with them.

And we did a craft for her birthday where we made Christmas ornaments with clear bulbs and nail polish. We asked everyone to bring any old nail polish that they had and honestly it was a beautiful and fun way to get rid of old bottles of nail polish. Also, it's good we did because she got a whole bunch of new stuff for her birthday and Christmas.

And that was it. It was so simple and practical, yet crafty and creative and fun. I loved it.
